Research Liberation Front

We promised that the Research Liberation Front would cease operations in and around the Market Research Conference 2011. Which was true up to a point. What we did instead was to create an award to present to the conference organisers for improvements to content and fun.  The organisers were far too frazzled to get around to accept the award. So nothing daunted we headed off round the conference presenting the  award to everyoneelse we could find – lots of laughter and photo opportunities. This shows the final handover on the Wednesday afternoon to a relieved looking Marc Brenner.

Across the other side of the Atlantic the Big Speak Easy had also run – the first RLF event in the USA. We plan more mayhem in the future. In the areas of training -we want to arrange free training because we think that young researchers have few training and conference opportunities because it is all too damm expensive. I say this as someone who is a professional trainer – I don't overcharge but I do know that many cannot persuade their managers to find the budget to come on training courses.

Our other initiative is going to be organising mentoring of the founders of growing research agencies so they get access to advice and encouragement. Watch this space!
