Audit Commission to be scrapped

The government just announced that the Audit Commission that monitors public spending is to be scrapped itself because it will save £50 million a year.  Costing 2000 people their jobs. Once again the satirists are under severe pressure. Real life is much funnier. It reminds me of Jonathan's Swift's biopic of Jonathan Wild the famous pickpocket who found his own pocket had been picked while he was helping himself to somebody else's wallet. And mused philosophically that you can't simultaneous rob others and protect yourself. Ah well.
