Jazz Club down the sailing club

This was a find. An open microphone night down at my local sailing club. A 3 piece jazz combo able to play just about anything. And anyone could turn up and have a go at whatever.  With the lake looking lovely alongside as darkness fell. There were about 30 people there. And 10 musicians including vocalists, flugelhorn, baritone and tenor sax. And violin. I took my trusty old jazz guitar and did a couple of things.

I didn't think jazz clubs like this existed.  Thought that jazz was far too difficult and the aficionados too snooty. Well I was wrong. Wonderful night. I'll be back. And I'll  be practicing for next time. If you live in the vicinity of Broxbourne at the East End of Hertfordshire then mail me and I'll tell you when it next happens.
